All dances The Peloponnese is the home of the kalamatianos in 7/8, the dance that schools spread throughout Greece, and one of the homes of the tsamikos. Ensembles play clarinet, violin, laouto and santouri, and many old songs, such as ballads and Easter songs, are set to the kalamatianos rhythm. In Tsakonia people dance the tsakonikos, which winds into a spiral, and in Nestani the Ai Georgis is danced to voices alone.
