Who dances it: Everyone

A two-part instrumental dance from Lefkada: the first part is in a quick duple rhythm and the second in 2/4 with triplets, almost like 6/8. There are two explanations for the name: 'Thiakos' from Thiaki, Ithaca, where it supposedly came from, or 'Theiakos' from the Theiakos family of Platystoma, who local tradition says created it. Like Milia, it belongs to the repertoire that Lefkadian dance groups present today.
