Character
Who dances it: Couples
The Samian form of the sousta, the springy dance that almost every Aegean island has in its own version. On Samos it is danced in several local variants, such as the kalabaktasiotikos (from the village of Kalabaktasi) and the abbas, and the island's dance associations teach it. Its steps are unrelated to the Cretan or Rhodian sousta.
