Character
Who dances it: Couples
A Thracian wedding dance named after the handkerchiefs (mantilia) the dancers hold. Guests danced it while escorting the bride or the best man to church; in the procession some carried a mirror, for the bride's purity, and others brooms, for her housekeeping. It is closely related to the syngathistos.
