Character
Who dances it: Everyone
A dance from Preveza in 9/8 (2+2+2+3), named after the tune that accompanies it. According to the researcher Kostas Mitsis, it is believed to have come to the area from Constantinople, and the name describes the women's skirts billowing as if in a strong wind. It is faster than most Epirote dances and is danced mainly by women. Local versions are the 'Elenaki' of Northern Epirus and the 'Bazarkana' of Zagori.
