Character

Who dances it: Everyone

A syrtos from the village of Divarata in Kefalonia, smooth and gentle in style. Its peculiarity is that, while the syrtos is usually in 2/4, the divaratikos is danced in 3/4. The folklorist Loukatos (1962) notes that the 'Gyrouzato' (or 'Palaio') is the same dance. Outside the island it is also known as 'syrtos Kefallinias'.
