Character
Who dances it: Everyone
Named after Platana (Akçaabat), west of Trapezounta (Trabzon), an area famous for its serra dancers. It is a slower form of the serra, built on the tik diplon step, with sharp arm movements and shoulder shimmies. Today it is danced as the first part of a suite that continues with the fast serra.
