A Carnival dance of Paros, still danced in Naoussa. Dancers hold shoulders, with slow steps in the first half of the tune and faster, springy ones in the second, and the leading woman guides the line under a handkerchief until the dance winds into a 'labyrinth'. Tradition links it to the crane dance Theseus danced on Delos after the Labyrinth; it was once a chance to reveal a secret love through improvised couplets.
